Thin film technology

VidurSolar photovoltaic (PV)glass modules with Scott thin-film technology comprise two layers of laminated toughened glass, between which the photovoltaic cells, applied on a glass substrate based on amorphous silicon technology, are encapsulated with PVB foils. With this technology a very homogeneous visual aspect is achieved, with a dark brown-red colour, where it is not possible to distinguish the different photovoltaic cells.

 

VidurSolar PV-glass modules with Scott thin film technology offer additional advantages:

  • High energy yield also with diffuse solar radiation. Especially good results at unfavourable inclinations and orientations or in dusty or cloudy geographical sites.
  • Low temperature coefficient, that means stable power generation with low dependence on temperature.
  • Very fine dispersion of natural light. VidurSolar PV-glass modules with Schott thin film technology is available as transparent solar panels with transparencies of 10% or 20%, and also in an opaque version.
